MYP GameNight Event at Holy Trinity Church – Friday, November 19, 2021 By Tom Leavens

On Friday, November 19, 2021, the MYP hosted their annual GameNight Event at Holy Trinity Church in Whitestone, NY. Our teens were extremely competitive! The event was rectored by Tom Leavens, and the Team members were Eileen Haggerty, Jean Pedri, Diana Roach & Mary Leavens.

The evening started with an icebreaker comprised of a few Minute-To-Win-It games: “Bite Me” (picking up bags of varying heights using only the mouth), “Dizzy Mummy” (unwinding a roll of toilet paper by executing a series of 360-degree spins), “Pennies on a Stick” (balancing six pennies on a popsicle stick held in your mouth) & “Face the Cookie” (using only the face, move cookies from the forehead to the mouth).  Then, we shifted to Pictionary, which presented random Catholic themes. This was followed by    Concentration, where our teens had to put together Bible quotes from pictures revealed through matched selections. The evening concluded with a Prayer Service themed with, “Lord, grant me the strength, like Jesus, to be obedient and finish my race well. Amen.” It was a great evening of games, competition and fellowship!

On Friday, December 17, 2021, the MYP will host their annual Christmas Event at Holy Trinity Church, Whitestone, NY. We will have dinner, a talk, activities & a service project to help eighty-five (85) families in the College Point, Queens area. Donations can be made by check/mail, or Venmo (Flushing Module Youth Team: @ModuleYouthProgramNEQ). Each year, our MYP Community has changed lives around the holidays. This is our biggest challenge but we’re hopeful and committed to our 2021-2022 theme!
