MYP TEENS LEAD THE STATIONS OF THE CROSS—Friday, April 11, 2025, at Holy Trinity Church, Whitestone, NY By Tom Leavens

The MYP led the Lenten Stations of the Cross at Holy Trinity Church on Friday, April 11, 2025. Following the stations, the teens gathered in the Parish Hall for a brief event.
The event was rectored by Diana Roach. Diana & MYP Team member, Eileen Haggerty, created a booklet that was distributed to the congregation. All were led with questions posed by the leader of the stations, followed by a youth response.

For the Second Station, “Jesus Takes His Cross,” the Leader & Youth response was as follows:
Leader: How have we beaten down others, especially those with less power or status, through our words or actions?

Youth: How often do I forget that You have carried the load for me? How often do I try to carry things on my own, not allowing You to help me? It was not only the sins of the world that you carried; it was my sin, my selfishness, my pride, my anger. And it was not only my sin you carried but also my burdens, my worries, my fears, my sadness, my insecurities.

The Closing Prayer for all was:
Lord Jesus Christ, the sacrifice of Your Passion and Death unites earth and heaven and reconciles all people to You. May we who faithfully reflect on these mysteries follow in Your steps and so come to share in Your glory in heaven, where You live and reign with the Father and the Holy Spirit, one God, forever and ever. Amen.

The MYP continues to be a presence for the Holy Trinity Church community, as well as leaders for their parish teens.
