The MYP celebrated 50 years in existence on June 10, 2023, at Holy Trinity Church in Whitestone, NY.
Before we began the celebration, we recognized those teens and team members that have passed away by reading their names and lighting candles in remembrance: MYP TEAM MEMBERS = Michelle McGrath Bischoff, Ed Bradley, Frank Dunham, Ada Fitzpatrick, Doris Fitzpatrick Iskaros, Tom Fitzpatrick, Jim Landers, Joe Roach, Taz Smith, Msgr. Jack Waldron, Mike Warren; MYP TEENS = Connie Barone, Livia Kim, Carla Legendre, Anthony Ruocchio, Sergio Villanueva, Jordan Yee; and for all those not mentioned, forever in our hearts.
The main celebrant for our Mass celebration was our friend, Rev. Robert Lauder. Our altar server was current MYP Teen Vienna Lombardi. Our readings were delivered by current MYP Teen Luke Hammond & MYP Team Member John Fodera. Our Prayer of the Faithful was delivered by Alysoun Roach.
Our music was led by Michael Zabrocki, and the songs chosen were MYP staples: Sing To the Mountains, Take Our Bread, One Bread, One Body & City of God.
The church was filled with so many former teens, team members, friends and children! The MYP spirit was truly alive: Fr. Bob’s beautiful homily, the beautiful petitions and the collective singing of everyone present.
