MYP Opening Day – September 21, 2018, at Holy Trinity Church, Whitestone, NY By Tom Leavens

The MYP is hosting their first teen event of the 2018-2019 season. MYP Opening Day is on Friday, September 21, 2018.  It will be held at Holy Trinity Church in Whitestone, NY. Diana Roach is the Rector for the event.  All teens are welcome, from 8th graders to seniors in high school.  The Team met for dinner to discuss the Day and what they hope the teens will get from it. With all of the issues going on in the Catholic Church, the MYP is focused on its mission: to bring teens to a closer understanding of themselves, others & their relationship with God. Teens need a place where they can discuss their lives and their faith, and the MYP provides an opportunity to do that on a monthly basis.  The Team consists of Catholic laypeople who are committed to sharing their own experiences in life, especially how God plays a role in it.  They are Virtus certified & are committed to providing a safe environment for teens.  We try to promote the program as best as we can, but we rely on recommendations & ‘word of mouth’ of those that know us—so please encourage the teens in your lives to join us and try it out.  Our program’s theme is, “You’ve Got A Friend,” and our Team is committed to keeping that alive!
